Through the active management of our partner organisation ‘Alternative Approach’ in Bangladesh, Sheba organised an Embroidery quilt (Nokshee Katha) weaving training programme for the unemployed women in Chatmohar, Pabna from the 30th November to the 4th December 2021. A total of 31 unemployed and marginalised women from this rural town and surrounding villages participated in the training programme. The training programme was conducted by a female entrepreneur from Dhaka.

The programme created a huge interest and enthusiasm among the participating women as they became empowered with a skill to earn from home and support their families. A number of the trainees have started working with our partner Alternative Approach under a ‘fee for service’ model.
