Comprehensive Healthcare Services to Improve Health and Wellbeing
Sheba Health Centre and after-hours services in Chatmohar
Shebe Health Centre in Chatmohar will operates 6 days a week run by a Medical officer and a
Sub-Assistant Community Medical Officer (SACMO). A nominal fee is charged to those who
are able to pay. The very poor receive free consultations. The centre is operational since
January 2023.
The satellite clinic at Handial, Chatmohar Upazilla, Pabna, Bangladesh has been serving the
community since May 2016. It is serviced by a SACMO and 2 community health workers. It is
open for 2 days a week.
Our satellite clinic at Mirzapur, Chatmohar Upazilla, Pabna, Bangladesh has been operational
since January 2019. It operates one day a week and is served by a SACMO and a community
health worker.
Our satellite clinic at Shomaj, Chatmohar Upazilla, Pabna operates one day a week and is
served by a SACMO and a community health worker. This clinic was our first project and has
been operational since 2013.
Sheba runs a number of mobile clinics that includes running consultations in various market places and font yard of households. The mobile clinics also include reaching out to the outlying communities by boat during monsoon who become separated from the dry areas due to flooding. The mobile clinics are run by a SACMO and 3 community Health Workers.
We have been running screening programme for Hypertension, Diabetes and Chronic Kidney since May 2023. The first 2500 people will be screened free of cost. The rest will be screened in exchange of a nominal feel. The screening programme is led by the SACMO.
Sheba has undertaken a population based research project on ‘Incidence of Hypertension, Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease in Northern Bangladesh in people attending screening programme’. This study will be based on the findings of the screening programme.
