Post-flood Rehabilitation Programme

This was Sheba’s first project. Following the devastating flood in Bangladesh in late 2007, Sheba conducted ‘Bangladesh Flood Appeal 2007’. It was low key initiative. Fund was raised through community participation. The money was distributed among 7 flood effected families in Pabna district of North-Western Bangladesh. The fund helped these families to stand on their feet again after losing their source of income. The beneficiaries started tea stall, house hold poultry farming and small scale fishing projects with the money they received. They were able to rebuild their lives following the loss of their entire livelihoods.
